Albany Albany's top death penalty attorney is moving to a new job -- top lawyer for the state comptroller's office.
First Deputy Capital Defender Randolph Treece starts as general counsel for Comptroller H. Carl McCall Feb. 25.
Treece, who took the $97,061 job heading the Albany Capital Defender Office in September 1995, said he's moving because it's a job he couldn't pass up.
